State of Play – 27 October

This round table meeting seeks to capture the perspectives of those delivering, supporting and shaping sports turf outcomes across the industry — helping inform future priorities, projects, partnerships and practical solutions.

The sports turf industry is under increasing pressure to deliver safe, high-performing and sustainable natural turf surfaces while responding to growing participation, increasing community expectations, environmental pressures and constrained resources.

Across local government, sporting organisations, schools, universities, contractors, racecourses, golf facilities, venues and industry suppliers, sports turf professionals are navigating a complex environment of operational, environmental, workforce and financial challenges.

This round table has been convened to bring together industry stakeholders to discuss:

  • The current issues affecting sports turf management and natural turf performance
  • Emerging pressures impacting sustainability, maintenance, workforce capability and playability
  • Industry knowledge gaps and practical challenges
  • Research, projects, studies or collaborative initiatives that could support improved industry outcomes

The session is intended to be an open, practical and solutions-focused discussion, informed by the experience of those working directly within the sports turf sector.

To assist the structure and discussions on the day, a pre-event survey has been developed.

This survey is open to anyone in the industry whether you are attending the event or not.
