STA NSW offers programs to support anyone working on a cricket wicket. Whether you are a volunteer or a qualified sports turf manager, there is something for everyone. Wicket 101 is a hands-on program developed by industry leaders to ensure NSW prepares the best wickets possible.
The programs offer a variety of topics to cover all aspects of wicket management. Training modules include:
- Renovations (scarifying, topdressing, nutrition)
- Watering (equipment and techniques)
- Wicket Preparation (sealing wickets, clippings, mowing, rolling)
- Final Preparations (covers, marking out, presentation, handover)
- Equipment and Machinery.

Wicket 101 is heading to Sydney’s southwest to Raby Sports Complex, Raby.
It will be a great day of learning and hands-on experience for anyone working on cricket wickets
and allows you the option to take that learning further with the national cricket accreditation program.
Wicket 101 is coming to Newcastle in September – Details coming soon.
