Daryl Davidson

Daryl Davidson started his career at the age of 16, taking on an apprenticeship in 1999 at Ashlar Golf Club, shortly after completing my apprenticeship I was promoted to the Assistant Superintendent. After two and a half years I was offered a role as the Sydney Grammar School as the Assistant Groundsman where I was introduced to cricket wickets and sports fields.

I spent two and a half years at Sydney Grammar until I was offered a position as the Assistant Head Groundsman at Sydney Uni Sport and Fitness and after 7 years as the Assistant I was promoted to the Head Groundsman.

3 years on and I’m still loving my job.

I was very lucky to be invited to join the STA and I thought by volunteering it would be a great way to give back to a trade that has given me so much.

It’s also a great way to meet other people in the trade and make new friends, so glad I jumped on board and strongly recommend if anybody gets the chance to join they should defiantly do it.
